Fault Analysis

The expansion turbine is a very reliable machine which is very dependent upon external sources for satisfactory operation. It is therefore in the plant operators interest to abide by the manufacturer’s manual at all times and prevent mis-use of the plant functions.

When analysing a problem the investigation should be carried out immediately as the fault may only be apparent at cryogenic conditions and not warm conditions or vice versa. It should also be noted that due to the construction of the turbine, any malfunction which causes a major turbine problem always results in a bearing journal seizure.

In such cases equipment should be returned to us for evaluation prior to repair as previously outlined.

The equipment is manufactured to high precision processes and procedures.

And we strongly advise against any unauthorised Third Party attempted repair which could lead to more extensive catastrophic damage to the Turbine and or other parts of the installation facility.
